Salman, Katrina are still 'Freinds'

According to a source on the sets, Salman and Kat had a blast on camera and off. And joining them was Bollywood’s original prankster, Khiladi Akshay Kumar, the lead star of the film.
    A close friend of the two revealed, “Salman and Katrina had always been discreet about their relationship. And all speculation about how awkward they would be when they bump into each other again, went for a toss on the sets of Tees Maar Khan. It wasn’t a shoot for a few hours, but for days, and the two showed that they remain friends.”
    Salman was roped in by his close friend Farah Khan to shoot for the qawwali dance number Wallah Re Wallah in the film. She had told him that Katrina and Akshay were featuring in the song but Salman did not hesitate to shoot with Kat. He chatted with her on the sets and even bonded with Akshay. Both actors were thick sets and kept pulling Katrina’s leg all the time.”
    Farah too said, “Salman and Katrina are professionals and I couldn’t see uncertainty or discomfort on their faces while working with each other. They bonded really well.

Salman even cooked food one day and Katrina and Akshay ate it. We were like a family out there.” Does that give the impression that the two actors are back as a jodi? Does it really matter?

Kangana Ranaut:The Rock Star Chick

KANGNA Ranaut might have been a green-horn in B-Town — wide-eyed and bushy-tailed about the whole fashion business when she started off. But along the way she learned how to dress and has today developed her own sense of style. Initially, AAP Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Sohail Maklai’s Knock Out that is releasing worldwide on October 15, didn’t offer this sassy actress a chance to experiment with her wardrobe. “The film itself is a thriller that takes place within a time span of two hours of screen time. And since I play a television journalist, who is doing some serious spot reporting, I had to be wearing one costume throughout the film. So, I didn’t get a chance to get myself an extensive wardrobe” explains Kangna, who’ll be seen wearing a smart-cut western outfit since her screen character resembles that of a high-profile BBC-kind of a reporter. Though Kangna had to have six copies of the same outfit to last her during the entire duration of the shoot, later on, she had a surprise in store for her. Kangna did get a chance to dress interestingly when the producers of Knock Out suggested adding a title track. “The music video shot is completely disconnected from the film. It is not in tandem with my screen character. But, I loved the challenge of dressing up like a rock star because that’s exactly how the song is designed. Even Sanju sir (Sanjay Dutt) has a very interesting wardrobe for the song. We’re both carrying guitars and grooving to a snazzy number directed by Ahmad Khan,” she says. While Sanju is wearing a chic leather jacket over a pair of fashionable denims and heavy-duty jewellery like the rappers do, Kangna will be seen sporting figurehugging leather pants, a smart short leather jacket thrown over a tube top with chains around her slender waist.

Kangna says she loves the fact that Hindi cinema gives an actor a chance to follow his/her heart and get into costumes that may seem bizarre off screen. But these costumes sit well on screen adding to the larger-than-life images that filmstars are often associated with.“When it comes to dressing up for songs/music videos we actors have a blast. It is truly dream merchant stuff. And if you let yourself go, you can thoroughly enjoy these situations,” says the actress who hopes that one will enjoy the nail-biting, hardcore, real stuff that Knock Out

Riya Sen to Become Producer

Sassy B-town babe Riya Sen is shooting for her next film called “Maryam”, a primarily film festival focussing movie. It is being directed by debutant director Salman Ansari, who has almost lost his eyesight and hence has decided to make a movie on the blind. According to the director, Riya has the innocence on her face which no one else has and was hell bent on casting her. He has in fact asked Riya to join hands with him as a co-producer, which she is seriously contemplating on. Sources say she is super keen for the job but is in two minds whether she's ready for the responsibility. If she decides against it then she will charge a certain sum of money as her fee and donate it to an institute looking after the blind. National award winner Sachin Khedekar will also be a part of this film and most of the shoot will be held in Goa.

‘ACTING IS TOUGH’
Playing a crime reporter in her next film, ask Kangna if she did any special homework for the role, and she says, “No homework as such. I just watched TV news more intently, observed nuances of anchors and reporters and kept absorbing every little detail I could.” And it’s these little nuances that make each of Kangna’s character so memorable. With the actress doing more of comedy in her next few releases, ask her if this change in genre was a deliberate move on her part, and she says, “Not deliberate. I am an actress and I must try my hand at all kinds of roles.” And with her excelling in the intense kind of roles, does she find comedy easy to do? She laughs and says, “You know most people think I find intense and serious roles easy. The reality is that nothing is easy in acting. Every genre requires a different set of skills and an actress has to acquire them. So, for me whether it’s doing a comic caper or a serious role, I find that both are difficult.”
FIRE TO SUCCEED
As she talks about difficulties, ask her if her small town background meant that she found it tough to adjust to the big, bad world of Bollywood and she says, “It’s all about passion. If you’re passionate about your art, are ready to work hard and have talent, then success is bound to come your way.” And the actress has tasted success and how. Maybe it's the reason she has no problem sharing the screen space with any actress? Ask her the secret and she says, “When I sign a film, it’s because I’ve liked the role I am being offered. So, I can be madly in love with the co-actor or absolutely detest him, but it won’t show in my work. My focus is on the character I play and my personal likes and dislikes don’t come into play at all.”
‘COOL TO BE HOT’
As she speaks about likes and dislikes tell her that when he was very young it is said that she liked being a doctor and she laughs and says, “Yeah that was my dream.” And she adds with endearing candour, “And it was not service that was the predominant thought. I just thought it was very cool to be a doctor and that docs with their white coats, stethoscopes etc. looked very hot! But, that’s my childhood dream. When I grew up I wanted to be an actress and here I am doing what I love.”
ITEM SONGS
In a short span of time the variety of roles she’s done is enviable, so ask her how come an item song is eluding her filmi resume? After all, she managed to hold her own in a dance sequence with Hrithik in Kites! She laughs and says, “I love to dance and I wonder why nobody is asking me to do an item number. I’d love to do an item song.” She goes on to add, “You know there’s an item song in my film next Knock Out and they are looking for someone who can do it! It’s so bad I can’t do it because I am playing a journo in the film and can’t possible break into a dance!”

Shriya's Special gift for her Parents

  Yesterday was extra special for actress Shriya. It was her parents’ birthday and the pretty lady celebrated the day in style! She says, “Both my mom and dad were born on the same date — September 26 — but of course, years apart. My dad was born at 5.30 am and my mom at 5.30 pm. And I figured this out just a few days ago!” Shriya didn’t throw a big bash for her parents because she wanted to spend precious time with them. “We had a little puja at home in the morning and then, spent the afternoon talking with each other. And then, I took them out for a special champagne dinner. It was a special occasion for us — sitting and chatting away to glory,” she adds. Well, we are sure Shriya is one helluva doting daughter to her lovely parents.

Riya Sen, who has been off the party circuit for a while, says she has been tied up with her shows and appearances. "When I am not shooting, I am busy travelling for my work related assignments," says Riya.
Tell her that she has always been referred to as sexy, and she wonders, "I want to know where has this image come from. I have worn saris in Bollywood as well as South films and that has just been dismissed. Now I'm cashing in on my 'sexy' tag with my shows abroad."


The Bong beauty is also awaiting the release of her Bengali film with sister Raima Sen. Both the sisters will be seen sharing screen space in Nauka Dubi which has been directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Riya will be seen in the role of a simpleton while Raima will play the glamour queen. "Nauka Dubi releases next year and until then I am not going to do any more Bengali films." Though Riya also got a few offers for Hollywood films, nothing caught her fancy. "I did get a few offers but none that I wanted to be a part of. I'd rather be here and do meaningful work," she counters.
Meanwhile she is busy with her future projects, which include A Strange Love Story and Tere Mere Phere. "In the former, I play a carefree girl who is a bit of a hippie at heart. The latter will see me as a traditional Himachali girl who is alive wire, a chatterbox," ends Riya.
