Purab Kohli leaving wife for Gul Panag?

Purab Kohli’s three-year-old marriage to theatre actress Yamini Namjoshi is said to be on the rocks. Purab has shifted to his mother’s home. Our source said, “Purab was dating Yamini for six years before he married her in November 2007. But in the past few months, they had been facing a lot of problems. The fights increased and Purab decided to move in with his mother.”
The couple has not filed for divorce yet. Adds the source, “They are giving each other some time and space. They have not even gone for counselling.” When contacted, Purab did not deny anything, but said, “I don’t wish to speak about my personal life.” In addition, news of Purab’s unending kiss with Gul Panag on the sets of Alankrita Shrivastava’s next “Turning Thirty” has also been doing the rounds. Supposedly the two did not stop kissing even after the director yelled ‘cut’.
Says a source close to the film, “Gul and Purab got along like a house on fire on the sets. Even after the director called ‘cut’, the two continued to kiss. The entire unit was very amused.”Apparently, the actors were to enact another raunchy lovemaking scene a few days later. But this time things couldn’t go out of hand, simply because Purab’s wife, Yamini decided to visit the set. Is this premonition? “Haan, thoda insecure thi woh, that’s
why she came,” says the source.

In the upcoming chick comedy Turning 30!!!, Gul Panag plays an advertising executive who grapples with the fears and anxiety of being manless and jobless at 30. People around her keep reminding her of her sagging breasts and need to have new lingerie. Then a man comes into her life and she grabs him like a hungry wolf.

The movie has hot smooches between Gul and co-star Purab Kohli. In fact, in one scene Gul and Purab were so lost smooching for the camera that they did not hear the director’s command ‘cut’ and continued with their lip-lock. Talk about job commitment!

Gul Panag turns 30 today

Age is just a number for actress Gul Panag who was in the city to promote her upcoming film Turning 30. “For a woman of today, she is as old as she feels. I don’t feel a day over 20. I am as frivolous and irresponsible as I was when I was 20. And, I don’t mean that in a bad way.

Except that I am now a little more grounded in reality and know where my life is going,” says the pretty lass who had a racy weekend at Irungattukottai and even got her shot of adrenaline as she took part in an allwomen’s race, “But, if I were to look back at my 20s, there are a few things I wish I could change; I wish I had the kind of understanding of things I have now. 30 is the new 20 and it’s the age one truly comes of age,” she insists.
And, Turning 30 is a film that deals with just that; it is a humorous take on a single young woman’s journey of finding herself as she fights anxieties and fears of turning 30.
“When I was first approached with this script, I was about 29 and I was excited because I had an instant connect with it,” she says, “The role of Naina is very well etched out. She is a very different person to who I am. Naina is a far more gutsy and someone who pushes the envelope. Hers is a life that every man and woman would love to live but don’t have the guts. I wish I could live life on the terms she lived her life. I am still shackled by morality.”
The movie deals with conflicts that an urban woman faces and Gul says in life too conflicts are aplenty. “For instance, the conflict of being in love with somebody but at the same time being attracted to another person. You meet this guy and he is everything you want him to be, he says everything you want him to say and does everything in life that you want to do. And suddenly, you find yourself attracted to another guy who is a total antithesis of this person. How does one deal with that,” she asks on a philosophical note.

Gul spent some of her best years in the south. Having studied in a residential school in Ooty, she says those were the best days of her life. “I always remember going home for holidays. The journey to Delhi by train was the most fun. There would be a group of students travelling together in a batch and we were not under direct supervision. The teacher who travelled with us let us have all the fun we wanted to have.” Of Chennai too, she has some fond memories. “The first time I came to Chennai was when I was about 2 or 3 years old. It was raining heavily and there was knee-deep water in some parts. I remember travelling by autorickshaw to my aunt’s place and when I got out of the rickshaw, I dropped all my money in a puddle of water,” she reminisces.
But it’s the food she loves the most. “I’ve always loved south Indian food; Chettinad cuisine is my favourite. The best dosas are available when you drive between cities in Mettupalayam, Gudalur or Salem —
small wayside familyrun eateries.”

Gul Panag Molested in New Delhi

Actor Gul Panag was molested by unidentified ‘runners’ during the half marathon in Delhi on Sunday. Gul, who is a regular runner and has taken part in several marathons, was outraged when several men at the starting point of the race took advantage of the crowd to feel her up, she alleges.
“It’s the women-in-crowded-place syndrome and typical of Delhi-grope. It’s not even surprising. I am a marathon runner and I’ve run a dozen-odd half marathons. There are always crowds, but this was my first marathon in Delhi. This doesn’t happen in Mumbai. But like I said, it’s expected in Delhi — it’s part of the culture,” Gul said. To her credit, despite being flustered by the incident, Gul went on to complete the run at an easy, chilled out pace. “I clocked 2.20 hours,” she confirmed.
A sizeable contingent of celebrities from Mumbai was in Delhi for the event, including Bipasha Basu, Arshad Warsi, Rahul Bose, Urmila Matondkar and Dhanraj Pillai, but most of them confined themselves to cheering from the grandstand. While she was still recovering from this unpleasant incident, Gul said the offenders took advantage of the general melee to get away, and since there was no clear identification she decided not to file a police complaint. Asked if the organizers should arrange a separate lane in the future for women runners at the Delhi marathon, Gul said, “One expects basic decorum from those who participate in such events. Nevertheless, I will participate in the Delhi marathon in the future. I am a fighter.”
